It’s gettin’ real up in here. My mind is completely consumed with mint milanos, rocky road and chewy chips ahoy. Some days I have no appetite (unheard of for me) and I’m starting to get tired of the same old food. It feels like day 30 will never come. I may forget what mint milanos taste like and that, my friends, is just NOT OK. Although, I guess that’s kinda the point =) Here’s what I ate days 6-10 along with a little summary.
Woke up feeling like I wanted to spend the rest of the day in bed. Maybe because it was Friday? According to the official Whole30’ers, days 6-7 are big time you-want-to-nap-all-day days. I got that. The meals I prepped for the week were coming to an end and the only fruit I had left was apples. The thought of more shopping and cooking on my weekend when I just wanted to be lazy by the pool with an adult beverage did not sound so fun. But, I still got this. Went to the doc, ended up getting FOUR vials of blood drawn =( and at the end of that ordeal I retreated to the couch with my raw fish and Netflix for the rest of the night.
Breakfast: Turkey patty & one avocado
Lunch: Beef roast, potatoes & carrots
Dinner: Salmon, tuna, yellowtail sashimi with coconut aminos & sparkling water w/raspberries
Slept in a little and was l-a-z-y. Didn’t want to do a thing today. Pretty sure it had more to do with the random summer thunderstorm outside and not Whole30. Ended up eating a super late breakfast which led to a late lunch, hence the smoothie for dinner. It was late and I wasn’t hungry for actual food. I knew I needed something because I didn’t want to wake up at midnight starving. I realize smoothies are frowned upon but it’s not an actual rule breaker so I went for it.
Breakfast: Turkey patty & one avocado
Lunch: Chicken salad w/yellow bell pepper, avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, olive oil & balsamic vinegar
Dinner: Smoothie – kale, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, banana, chia seeds
Had ZERO appetite most of the day. I made myself eat breakfast and had to force it down. Snacked for lunch and finally ate dinner. Still didn’t have a big appetite but I ate. All I wanted was CHOCOLATE. All I could think about was rocky road ice cream in a cone. Which is weird because usually my fav is mint chocolate chip. And I’m not sure where that cone craving came from? Not a waffle cone, a cheap, easily breakable Thrifty’s sugar cone. I’m drooling.
Breakfast: Scrambled egg w/avocado
Lunch: Almonds & a peach
Dinner: Grilled flank steak topped with a mix of tomatoes/garlic/basil, roasted sweet potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash & watermelon
Had to force breakfast down again and I barely got 2 eggs down.
Getting tired of the same foods, I definitely am learning I need to mix it up. I didn’t get a lot of meal prep done over the weekend which scares me for the week ahead. Need to take time out tonight (Monday) to get that done! So far I’m not experiencing any extra energy like the Whole30 timeline states for days 8-15… I’ll keep ya posted!

Lunch: Shrimp ceviche (shrimp, red onion, cilantro, avocado & tomatoes in lime juice)
Dinner: Spaghetti squash w/meatballs & tomato sauce
Snack: Red grapes
Seriously gagged on one scrambled egg for breakfast. Didn’t even finish a whole avocado. Bleh. I have issues with breakfast. I used to eat a peanut butter sandwich every single day. I didn’t necessarily enjoy it but, for some reason, it worked for me. I miss the comfort of bread. I don’t want to see another egg for a while. I really need to start mixing it up! Extra energy? Where are ya?! On a good note, my skin is definitely slightly clearer and I’m starting to notice tiny little body changes.
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs w/avocado & a plum
Lunch: Shrimp ceviche (shrimp, avocado, onion, cilantro, lemon & lime juice & tomatoes – don’t worry, I removed that tostada hiding underneath right away!)
Dinner: Flank steak w/tomatoes, garlic, basil with guacamole & roasted broccoli (random mashing together of leftovers!)
Phew, 1/3 of the way done. Wait, what?! Only 1/3? Gahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I got this. I got this. I got this. I hope. Main thing for the next 5 days: PREP AHEAD OF TIME. I’m tired of the same old things, especially for breakfast!
